     A one woman exhibit of watercolors, serigraphs, acrylics and oil paintings by Northport artist karen Jacobs will be on display throughout April in the Tuscaloosa Junior League Art Gallery.

     The show is in the second floor gallery of the Bama Theater performing arts center.  The exhibit may be viewed from 1-5 p.m. each Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.

     Ms. Jacobs, of 11-L Northwood Lake, has received art training at Florida State University, Loch Haven Art Center in Orlando, Fla., maryland College of Art and Design and has had extensive study with instructors and art institutions in Washington, D.C.

     She has won a number of awards and has had her work represented in several states.  Her works have been featured in a one-woman show at the Green Garden gallery in Montgomery.

    Her work is also included in private collections in this state and in Mississippi.

     Ms. Jacobs has received a number of first-prize awards for her graphics, abstracts and watercolors.  In 1981, the artist was selected to produce 15 original serigraphs to be presented as the governor's Arts Awards by the State Arts council.
