(Sadly, this extraordinary facility is now closed.)

                  Centre d'Art Contemporain(taken from the Cat'Art website)
Situated in the village of Sainte Colombe sur l'Hers (department Aude in the south of France),
the centre for contemporary art Cat'Art has been created to offer professional artists
opportunities of residences, and professional or non professional artists, courses and
workshops. This private structure is managed by the association Cat'Art.

Cat'Art also organises art events enabling exchanges between artists,
art students or art lovers as well as bringing contemporary art closer
to the public with the exhibitions in the Espace Pilar Riberaygua..

I was fortunate to attend Cat'Art Center of Contemporary Art in rural South France during the month
of April, 2006.  It was a terrific experience shared with six other artists, one being a resident of the area.
I kept a blog during the time I was there and when I returned, made a collection of pages that
focuses on the houses we stayed in, the grounds and the people involved.

                  Blog links are here:

                  The Grounds

                  The Patio House

The House of the Cherry Tree

                  The People

A Month of Journal Entries and Sketches by Annette Bush

Sainte Colombe sur l'Hers is a very small village with much charm and there is easy access to larger villages and cities.
For more detail and daily notes, browse the archives of my blog for the month of April. I will be happy to answer
questions re the potential for other artists to experience this most accommodating art residency.
