The complex and
irregular patterns of old,
handmade rugs offer a point of departure for the evolution of this series of abstracted paintings. By emphasizing the spirit of the designs, the patterns are taken beyond the obvious and often take on a life of their owndeveloping into a series of tracks or traipsings, becoming marks left by other track-makers. |
